@Aryan Saple I gave up on Spirograph at the relatively young age of 10 years because I couldn’t do anything with it then. Fast-forward some 50 years and I got curious if I could do better now. Nobody knows what happened to my family’s old set so I bought a few new ones. Yes, I can do more with it now, but I have nowhere near mastered it. It looks simple, but is very much not as simple as it looks.

In reply to Kelli Amaral. It can go around inside a ring, though it's awkward compared to the smooth movements of the round wheels. Take a look at the Basic Pattern Guide in the instruction booklet (pages 5 and 6 of the new Deluxe set). I'll do some more experiments and put them in a post. The ones I've done so far are kind of rough.

I am wondering how the bar is supposed to be used. It seems as if it can be used to make arcs, but I am wondering if it can do more.
